Overview
Fibroscan (Transient Elastography) is a specialised ultrasound-based technique that measures liver stiffness — a marker of liver fibrosis — and quantifies liver fat content (CAP score). It provides reliable, non-invasive assessment of liver health without the need for a biopsy.
At Dr. Anand's Diagnostic, Fibroscan is performed by trained operators using the latest FibroScan device. It is recommended for monitoring patients with hepatitis B, hepatitis C, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), alcoholic liver disease and other chronic liver conditions. Results are available immediately.
What We Do
We perform Fibroscan with CAP (Controlled Attenuation Parameter) for simultaneous assessment of liver fibrosis stage (F0–F4) and steatosis grade (S0–S3). The test is performed in fasting state and takes 10–15 minutes. Results are provided with a detailed interpretation report.

Yes. Fasting for at least 2 hours before the test is required for accurate CAP (liver fat) measurements. Please avoid a heavy meal before arriving. Water is permitted.
Fibroscan is completely painless and non-invasive. It uses low-frequency ultrasound vibrations — similar to a gentle tap on the skin. There is no radiation and no needles involved.
Fibroscan is recommended for patients with chronic hepatitis B or C, fatty liver on ultrasound, elevated liver enzymes, alcohol-related liver disease and those on long-term hepatotoxic medications who require liver monitoring.
